Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between native 1080P and "supports 1080P"?
The Beamie has a native 1080P resolution, meaning the projector's internal display chip is true Full HD (1920x1080 pixels). Many cheaper projectors are actually 720P or lower but claim to "support 1080P" - they just downscale the input signal, resulting in a blurry image. With native 1080P, you get genuinely sharp, cinema-quality visuals. Plus, the Beamie supports 4K input content for future-proofing.
Can I use this in a room with some light or does it need to be completely dark?
One of the Beamie's biggest advantages is its 1500 ANSI lumens brightness - that's 5X brighter than typical budget projectors. This means you can enjoy clear, vibrant images in rooms with ambient light, during evening hours, or even outdoors at dusk. For the best experience, we recommend dimming the lights, but you absolutely don't need a pitch-black room like with cheaper projectors.
Do I need to buy a separate streaming device like a Fire Stick or Roku?
No! The Beamie has Android 12.0 built-in, giving you direct access to Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube, Hulu, and thousands of other apps from the Google Play Store. Just connect to WiFi and you're ready to stream. This saves you £50-100 on external devices and eliminates cable clutter.
How complex is the setup process?
Setup is incredibly simple - it's truly plug-and-play. The Beamie features 2-second auto-focus and automatic keystone correction, so you literally just turn it on and it adjusts itself for a perfect picture. No manual focusing wheels or complicated adjustments needed. If you can use a TV remote, you can use the Beamie.
What size screen can I project and how far back does it need to be?
The Beamie projects images from 40 inches up to 300 inches (that's a 7.6-meter wide screen!). The recommended optimal screen size is 100-120 inches at around 2.5-3 meters distance. For bedroom use, even 1.5 meters gives you a great 60-80 inch image. The flexibility means it works perfectly in small bedrooms or large outdoor spaces.
Can I connect my games console, laptop or other devices?
Absolutely! The Beamie has 2x HDMI ports, 2x USB ports, AV input, audio output, and LAN connection. Connect your PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, laptop, DVD player, or any HDMI device. You can even keep multiple devices connected simultaneously and switch between them. Plus, it supports wireless screen mirroring from your phone or tablet.
Is the built-in speaker loud enough or do I need external speakers?
The Beamie features dual 4-Ohm 5W speakers with enhanced audio tuning - significantly better than typical projector speakers. For most users, the built-in audio is more than adequate for movies, shows, and casual gaming. However, if you're an audiophile or want cinema-level surround sound, you can easily connect external speakers or a soundbar via Bluetooth, audio output jack, or HDMI ARC.
Can I use this for outdoor movie nights in my garden?
Yes, it's perfect for outdoor use! The high 1500 ANSI brightness means it works beautifully at dusk and after dark. It's compact and portable, so you can easily move it outside. Many customers project onto white walls, hanging sheets, or portable projection screens. Just ensure you have access to power (or use a portable power bank with AC output) and WiFi if streaming. The built-in speakers are loud enough for outdoor viewing too.
What kind of warranty and support do you provide?
What's included in the box?
Your Beamie package includes everything you need to get started: the HDEW Beamie projector, power cord, HDMI HD cable, remote control (requires 2x AAA batteries), and user manual. You won't need to purchase any additional accessories - just unbox, plug in, and start watching within minutes.
